萨塞克斯大学的计算机科学专业怎么样？
萨塞克斯大学成立的最初目的是为了促进布莱顿市的发展。1911年的12月，在布莱顿的皇家展览馆召开了一个关于探讨如何资助成立大学的公开会议，但这个计划因第一次世界大战的爆发而被迫停止，项目所筹集的基金则用在了市立专科学院教科书的采购。值得庆幸的是，在20世纪50年代这个计划被重新提出，在1958年,政府批准自治委员会在布莱顿建校的提议成立，从诞生了第一间“平板玻璃大学”（在60年代成立的英国大学因为他们的建筑风格而被称为“平板玻璃”大学）。1959年间，萨塞克斯大学是以公司的模式构建起来的，直到1961年8月16日获得皇家特许权后，才逐渐发展成一个高等教育机构。在获准成立大学之后，萨塞克斯很快因其激进主义与自由主义而闻名。
2004年开始，萨塞克斯大学采用了一个全新的校徽来代替原本的校徽。对此，前大学副校长，Alasdair Smith教授认为：“萨塞克斯大学将迎来一个耳目一新的开始。所有的改革都基于萨塞克斯的教学理念及定位，一切都将是梦想的开始。未来，萨塞克斯大学将会成为一所先进的具有创新性的国际化杰出的高等院校，并更具吸引力和挑战性。”新标志还代表着萨塞克斯大学发生的重大改变，如新增设布莱顿和萨塞克斯医学院，开设新的学科，建造新的教学楼，所有的工作都像在构建一所全新的大学。
